Route Description
There is supposed to be a fairly obvious track leading to this fishing station but we haven't yet had a survey of it returned to us. Any help would be gratefully received.

Heritage Information
This is an old track leading to the remains of an abandoned fishing station at Achastle-Shore. The fishing stations were where the Herring boats brought home their catch to be processed. The herring industry was huge in Scotland and gave a lot of jobs to people who had recently been cleared from their homes.
The fishing station at Achastle-Shore was noted down as consisting of only one large building in the 19th century by the Ordnance Survey but it seems that now the walls are all that remains.
