Route Description
From the Kerrera Ferry on Gallanach Road, a sign points diagonally up the hill saying Public Footpath to Pulpit Drive. After 200 yards of this path, go through a gate and carry on uphill until a track is reached going from right to left. The left track leads to Pulpit Hill, but take the right track and after 200 yards you'll reach the public road. Here turn left and go for another 50 yards and then go through a gate on the right marked for Gallanachbeg. From here you should find little arrows pointing the way along a clear track to Loch Gleann a' Bhearraidh. Tantalisingly, the track on the other side of the loch is obvious, but first you must go through a metal gate and continue to the shore before turning left to pick your way around the loch. This section is not at all easy, you will likely have to leave the shore and beat your way to the dam, which isn't difficult to cross. Once over you will have to climb uphill then turn to the right through some scrub trees and you will pick up a rough path that loosely follows the fence line. This section can have 7ft bracken in the summer, but is probably easier outside that season. Turn left once you reach an obvious track. This track is easy to follow till Cologin and the Barn Bar. Pass the bar and walk towards the houses, but bear left to avoid the gardens and you'll meet the public road in 200 yards. Once you've reached the road, turn left and after 50 yards turn right through a gate after the cross. After another 200 yards there is another gate, pass through this and turn left, which will take you to the A816 near to Kilmore.
