175th Anniversary Members’ Walks

on .

ScotWays has been involved in many cases where public access has been blocked and we will walk two problematic routes - Bloomfield in Fife and Cairnbank Road in Penicuik.

From our Heritage Paths project, we’ve chosen the Stoneymollan Road and routes through the Campsie Fells and the Lammermuirs.

ScotWays was involved in the initial stages of the Fife Pilgrim Way project so we’re off to Fife to follow a section of the completed path.  We also funded the Sawmill Bridge at Cortachy by Kirriemuir and will be going along to see how it’s settling in.

The Friends of the Pentlands received an award from our Small Grants scheme to help with path maintenance work on the Cauldstane Slap. This route is also an ancient drove road so we’ve teamed up with Friends of the Pentlands for a joint walk along this historic path.

Starting in Coylumbridge, a Cairngorms walk will include old signpost, Scottish Hill Tracks routes and remember an access dispute from two centuries ago.

Finally, the significance of Glen Tilt to the public’s rights of access to land will be remembered on a walking weekend based in Pitlochry.

Fancy coming on one of our members’ walks, but not a member?  No problem. Join us now and we’ll send you a booking form!
