Thursday 20 October A 7.5m/12km walk along the north shore of the Tay
This walk will take us along the Tay Estuary in the vicinity of Errol, Port Allen, Cottown, St Madoes and Inchyra, with views over the river to Newburgh and the Fife shore. We shall see the extensive reed-beds which were once the basis of a thriving industry and we shall pass Port Allen and Craigie Pier, vestiges of the former shipping trade between Dundee and Perth. Of more modern interest, we shall pass an area earmarked for a solar farm. Depending upon the state of the tide, we may see geese heading to or from the mud banks for their daily feed.
